NetworkedPlanet announces TMCore05 Developers' Edition
1st March 2005NetworkedPlanet is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the TMCore05 Developers' Edition. The Developers' Edition of TMCore05 has been created to allow programmers to create and test applications and web services on a single client machine, prior to deployment using the Full edition of TMCore05. The Developers' Edition also provides a low cost way to evaluate all of the features of TMCore05 and allows students and researchers to create their own applications without the need for additional infrastructure.
The Developers' Edition provides the same API and query language facilities as the Full Edition. The only restriction is that applications deployed on the Developers' Edition are restricted to a single database on the local machine. The Developers' Edition ships with the Microsoft Desktop Engine (MSDE) which provides the data-store.
As with the Full Edition, developers using the Developers' Edition can use a full in-process API which provides direct programmatic access to every aspect of the topic map structure as well as high-level indexing and convenience functions. In addition, the Web Services API provides operations to query and update topic maps allowing rapid system integration and cross-platform accessibility.
